Getsermons is a Christian lifestyle app that helps you discover and listen to sermons from preachers all over the world. It's the perfect app for Christians who are looking for inspiration, guidance, and encouragement. I am currently building the distribution web application using Laravel, Inertia.js, and React.js
Designed and deployed a Laravel and Node.js integration gateway connecting distributed hospital systems to the Carebridge platform. Engineered inter-service routing, message transformation, and fault tolerance mechanisms that reduced application latency by 40%. Maintained Laravel backend services critical to healthcare workflows, sustaining 99% uptime through zero-downtime deployment practices.
Built a consumer-facing mobile application using Angular.js and internal operational tooling with Vue.js for a service company focused on daily consumer needs. Buzza is an e-commerce platform that serves a lot of vendors and shoppers. I worked on the backend that powers both the web and mobile applications. I build the APIs using Laravel and also integrated 3rd party services like Stripe and Amazon S3.
Led development of a Laravel-based HR benchmarking and reporting platform. Redesigned core MySQL schemas and introduced properly scoped indexes, reducing critical query execution times by up to 50% and enabling real-time analytics across large datasets. Built and maintained internal tools for a security company using Laravel and Vue.js. Optimised backend performance, contributed to REST API architecture, and improved team workflow efficiency across the engineering team.
I build backends with Laravel, it is my primary stack for production APIs, full-stack applications via Inertia.js, long-lived systems that need to scale, and distributed or high-throughput workloads (I also reach for Node.js). I rely on Reverb for WebSockets, Sanctum for authentication, Pest for test-driven development, Nightwatch for monitoring.
On the frontend, I work across React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, and Nuxt.js with Tailwind CSS, Shadcn, and TanStack Query as my defaults. I use Pinia and Zustand for state management, and Zod or Yup for validation.
My infrastructure work spans AWS (S3, Rekognition), DigitalOcean, Vercel, Laravel Cloud, and Laravel Forge with CI/CD via GitHub Actions. I'm comfortable with zero-downtime deployments, async queue processing, and designing systems for fault tolerance and low latency.
Databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL are my primary tools, with Redis for caching. I write and optimise SQL for performance-critical workloads, and I have working knowledge of schema design for multi-tenancy and real-time analytics.
